Serving Sappers General

Web Pages For Serving Sappers

1.  There are a number of web pages available for each Squadron and each Troop to use on this website. They could be used for social occasions such as:

(a)  Happy hours.

(b)  Sports trips.

(c)  Fishing trips.

(d)  Tours.

2.  Spouses and partners of serving sappers are encouraged to be involved in organising social activities and running these web pages.

3.  Some web pages are for predominantly Regular Force Sappers and other web pages are for predominantly Territorial Force Sappers.

Profile

4.  The serving sappers web pages are only accessible to members who have ticked their appropriate unit in their Profile. This in turn is restricted to those that have become a Serving Member [for free] of the Sappers Association [NZ] Inc [see Sappers > Join > para 32(a)].

Security

5.   Google Analytics shows someone from non-allied countries looking into our website:

(a)  China, roughly weekly.

(b)  Russia, perhaps monthly.

6.  It is important that serving sappers login to this website, rather than insecure media such as Facebook, Twitter etc. Overseas deployments could be at risk now, and perhaps terrorists could target families of overseas sappers here at their homes some time into the future. This website is aware of these risks.

Keeping An Eye on Your Mates

7.  There are Service Member login pages:

(a)  A nominal roll of serving sappers on web page 'Serving Sappers > Service Members' web page.

(b) A system for being directly contacted if a close friend you have nominated on your Profile goes into hospital etc. This is on 'Era Decade Sappers > Era Decade General > para 7(b) > [your joined RNZE era] Members' web page.

Logging In

8.  To decide whether or not it is worth finding your password to login and see what's new on your Troop web page, have a look at public web page 'Web Pages Updated > Serving Sappers' first without logging in.

Ticketing System

9.  In raising an Event on this website, there is a ticketing system for collecting money for social aspects such as food, Uber etc.

(a)  A member who is an Administrator on this website can use his/her mobile phone to scan each ticket when presented for the service used.

(b)  After a free Service Member six-month grace period to see how things worked out, an Administrator would need to become a Financial Life Member [see Sappers > Join > para 32(b)]. To handle Sapper Association [NZ] Inc funds only Financial Life Members are subject to the Constitution. Service Members have not paid a fee and are therefore not subject to the Constitution [a contract is two parties and a consideration].

(c)  There is a fee for Service Members [& Financial Life Members] login charged by Stripe [see Sappers > Join > para 33].

(d)  Non-members would need to use the venue's system such as Ticketek, Eventfinda etc at whatever their charge up rate is.
