Revival of the “TALES OF THE NINE FLAMES” 

By popular demand from both fans the “Tales of the Nine Flames” will continue.  For those who have never caught up with the infamous stories, we will key in past accounts that were originally scribed in the NZ Sappers Magazine. Detailed facts of the stories are based on the following criteria.Names are used to neglect the innocent.

(a) No supposition or guess work is supplemented. Facts only are used.  

(b) People were hurt during these activities but never reported. Sprs were tough in those days.

(c) Humour was recognised no matter what the results exposed.

(d) If the writer was not present at these accounts, it will be notated.

2.  We intend to publish a Tale Of The Nine Flames about every four months. Members will need to login to read these Tales. This is for a number of reasons:

(a)  The information in many of the Tales Of The Nine Flames is generally factual showing some our more embarassing episodes and therefore not for public consumption.

(b)  We would like members to login on a regular basis, which in turn leads to them updating their contact details, especially their email address. Of the 500 members on the Sappers Association books, we have lost email contact with 300 of them. We need a system to reduce losing anymore ot the remaining 200 we are still in email contact with. This interactive website is that system. By providing members with a bit of light funny reading, we hope they will login every few months just to have a giggle.

(c)  A number of members have un-ticked 'Subscribe for messages' and we can't get any emails through to them. Presumably, these members have un-subscribed for privacy reasons or they have had enough of the landslide of emails arriving in their inbox. Consequency, we have a policy of a minimum of emails sent out. Some members have left the army long ago, lost contact with their former mates, and generally don't want to be contacted. By having a system whereby members can look at the 'Login Pages Updated' anytime they like and choose what interests them, we give people a choice without harrassment.

3. When a new Tales Of The Nine Flames is published on this website, it will have new date shown in Menu > Login Pages Updated > Regions....> Table > Tales Of The Nine Flames. About once a month, without logging in, have a look at that web page for a new date in red. There will be no emails sent out. The 'Login Pages Updated' is members only cue.
