This reconnaissance of Waikanae is primarily aimed at holding a Decade 1960-69 Do and later a Decade 1980-89 Do social function at the Paraparaumu RSA in a couple of months time. It involves finding out about the set up of the Waikanae Army Leave Centre about 5 km from Paraparaumu.

Those members who may wish to start thinking about a one evening Decade Do social function at Paraparaumu RSA for their own era of the 1950s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s & 2010s may want to come along for the night. About eight years ago we held a couple of Decade Do's at the old Taupo RSA and found that over a dozen people in each case were willing to travel long distances to have a few drinks with their old mates.
