Lunch will be at Galbraith's Alehouse, formerly the Grafton Public Library building, built in 1913. Please indicate in your booking if you'd like to pre-order the Sunday Roast Lunch. Otherwise, several other meal options will be available. Sappers, mates, friends all welcome.

Sappers Day celebrates the current, historical and future contributions of the New Zealand Defence and Civilian Forces to peacekeeping, defence, emergency response, innovation and the development of Aotearoa New Zealand. Since 2023, the Lamp of Remembrance at Kahui St David's has been illuminated daily to remember and honour all New Zealand service personnel.
The event marks the 99th year of the Royal New Zealand Engineers' Sappers' Day.
The event is led by the NZ Sappers Association, current and former members of the Royal New Zealand Engineers (RNZE). Sappers Day recognises their annual celebration, the date upon which their Royal Corp was established in 1902. Recognising their frequent role as the advanced field force in a combat or natural disaster zone, the combat engineer’s roles are comprehensive, flexible, resilient and creative.
